Project description
DTEK is a Ukrainian energy giant that employs over 70,000 staff and is also the largest private investor in the Ukrainian energy sector. This is also how the DTEK Academy was established, specialising in further education for companies and training for employees in the public sector. More than 200,000 participants attend the academy each year. The first half of 2019 saw the construction of a new building for the academy in the UNIT.City Innovation Park, which can be rightly called the Ukrainian Silicon Valley. OBO Bettermann products are amongst those that provide the right power and data supply for the innovative building.
General building information
The academy itself is located on the first and second floors of the building. On the fifth floor, the lecturers and other employees of the academy enjoy a comfortable and homely office wing with a modern design.
Why did the customer choose OBO products?
OBO was able to impress the client with short delivery times, given the tight schedule for the project. The products were delivered from a regional warehouse. Another argument in favour of OBO was the high quality of the underfloor systems at fair prices.
Were special solutions used?
The office spaces needed to be cosy and welcoming, but the rooms in the academy itself were to be innovative and futuristic. Creating these atmospheres required special lighting solutions, modern technology and many other electrical installations. The GES service outlets from OBO were the ideal solution for power and data cables. They supply workstations and other areas in the centre of the room with power and data connections via the floor.
What type of challenges occurred during construction?
A major challenge for this project was the tight schedule – for example, the architects had just six months to finish the project. However, the time factor was one of the reasons why the OBO Bettermann products were selected.
